From Book to Real Life: Bringing Eggwish to a Maui Preschool

Eggwish is a children’s Easter book by Marissa Molina that encourages kids to explore imagination, identity, and who they hope to become.
Recently, that story stepped off the page and into real life during a preschool visit in Maui.
Earlier in the day, the children met Everhop, the Easter Bunny from Eggwish, during their Easter egg hunt. The kids were curious, asking his name, not yet realizing they would soon hear his story.
Later, during circle time, everything connected.
As the book was introduced, the children immediately recognized Everhop on the back cover.
Before beginning the story, I shared that the illustrator, Jasper Salazar, is from the Philippines. Several of the children immediately lit up with excitement, sharing that they were Filipino and had family there. A few even mentioned they had visited. I shared that I had been there as well, and it created a sweet and unexpected moment of connection before the story even began.
As the story began, the room grew still. A group of 3 and 4 year olds sat quietly, completely engaged, eager to hear what would happen next.
It was a rare moment where the story didn’t need to be interrupted with questions or prompts. They were fully immersed.
By the end of the visit, the children knew Everhop’s name and each shared their own “Eggwish”—who or what they wanted to become.
Moments like these reflect the heart behind Eggwish and the mission of Imagination Reality: creating experiences that go beyond storytelling and help children feel uplifted, empowered, and inspired.
Eggwish is available on Amazon, and author visits and character experiences are available in Maui.
